Sheri Gu is a science fiction author whose work explores the evolving relationship between intelligence, consciousness, and civilization in an age of accelerating technology. Rather than treating science fiction as a vehicle for predicting the future, she uses it to examine the enduring questions of human identity, freedom, and the cost of perfect order.

Before becoming a full-time writer, Sheri built a multidisciplinary career spanning finance, media, business, and technology. She spent fourteen years in banking and another decade leading a major media organization in China before continuing her academic and professional journey in the United States. She studied data analytics through an MBA program, completed executive education at MIT Sloan and UC Berkeley Haas, and was a Visiting Scholar at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

Her debut English novel, RIFT: Gestalt, is a hard science fiction work that combines scientific speculation, philosophical inquiry, and technological realism. Instead of focusing on spectacle, the novel investigates how emerging technologies reshape the structures of civilization and challenge the meaning of individuality itself.

Sheri's writing is driven by a long-standing interest in the intersection of technology, society, and human nature. Across both fiction and essays, she seeks to create stories that invite reflection rather than certainty, encouraging readers to engage with questions that extend beyond the page.

She is currently developing future works in both fiction and nonfiction while continuing to write about intelligence, technological power, and the choices that shape civilization.
